    Mellanox Technologies is looking for an Application Engineer to support our high-speed communications products including ASICs, cables, and transceivers. The work brings you in direct touch with the exciting development of the latest and greatest in high-speed ASICs, cables, and transceivers for use in tomorrow’s data centers around the Globe.

     

    The work includes daily communication with engineering, marketing, quality, and operations teams in an informal atmosphere across Mellanox’ sites in Denmark, USA, Israel, and China as well as with customers globally (mostly US, China, Japan, EU) to enable successful evaluation and implementation of Mellanox’ communications ASIC (IC) products.

     

    You have insight into analogue ASICs, signal integrity, PCB design and assembly, and maybe even in optical communication. You like working with many different teams and you have good skills in written and spoken communication.

    Responsibilities

    • Support our pre-sales efforts, demonstrate the advantages of our new 200/400 Gbps products.
    • Pre-sales support includes creation of demonstration kits and documentation, proof-of-concept, assisting customers with design of products with Mellanox ASICs, including design reviews, debugging, and advisory assistance during test development and product qualification.
    • Develop product documentation including application notes, test reports, product evaluation kits and other collaterals to support sales/marketing of advanced IC products (chip sets).
    • Keep close contact with customers and with Mellanox field applications engineers and sales people.
    • Provide constructive feedback to Mellanox engineering and marketing about product requirements, customer experience, documentation and tools, and communicate solutions to your peers.
    • Our ASICs are also used in our own interconnect products, i.e. assisting our field teams at end customer data centers is also part of the work.
    • Technical support is mostly provided through FAEs, but direct interaction with customers is sometimes necessary to overcome complex technical issues during design of their products and acceptance test/installation of our cables and transceivers.
    • Lead complex escalations with customers, lead task force with colleagues in the engineering and operations teams, build debug strategies and lead them to execution, while communicating with the customer.

    Qualifications

    The position involves the ability to solve complex multidisciplinary issues with focus on 50 – 400 Gbps applications. This requires experience with signal integrity, analogue and digital signal processing, board design and assembly. Use of high-speed lab test equipment and software tools is necessary for debugging. Good overview of many simultaneous customer cases, involving different ASIC or transceiver design groups, quality, operations, and marketing teams is part of the daily work.

    • Sc. Electrical Engineering
    • Experience with high-speed PCB design
    • Knowledge of laboratory equipment such as BERT, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers etc.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
    • High level English communication skills, customer facing experience
    • Strong interpersonal skills and interest in working with international colleagues and customers
    • Positive mind, results oriented and able to handle competing priorities
    • Advantage – experience with design/test/production/support of ASICs or optical transceivers
